Background and Content

12th China International Steel Congress and Global Low-carbon Metallurgy Innovation Forum 2023, organized by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) and China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited will be held in Shanghai on 15 October 2023. Themed “Green Steel, Green Growth”, the conference will bring leaders and experts of the world steel industry together, to speak on the theme and share their insights on the development of steel.

China International Steel Congress is a biennial high-level conference focusing on the profound, overall and strategic issues of development of the steel industry. Since its establishment in 2000, the congress has been successfully held for eleven times and enjoys an esteemed reputation globally.

In 2021, China Baowu initiated the establishment of the Global Low-Carbon Metallurgy Innovation Alliance, which has successfully held the Global Low-carbon Metallurgy Innovation Forum for two times. The alliance aims to work together with industrial associations, steel companies, R&D and design institutes, colleges and universities, and upstream and downstream partners in the industrial chain, to pool wisdom to jointly establish a sharing and exchange platform, and to create a green and low-carbon ecosystem of the steel industry.
