China’s steel output sees year-on-year decrease of 6.5% in Q2

According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in June 2022, China’s crude steel output was 90.73 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.30%, and the daily output was 3.0243 million tons, a month on month decrease of 2.96%; The production of pig iron was 76.88 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 0.50%, and the daily output was 2.5627 million tons, with a month on month decrease of 1.30%; The production of steel was 118.42 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.30%, and the daily output was 3.9473 million tons, a month on month decrease of 0.20%.

In the first half of 2022, China’s crude steel output was 527 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.50%, with a cumulative daily output of 2.9109 million tons. The output of pig iron was 439 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.70%, with a cumulative daily output of 2.425 million tons, and that of Steel products was 667 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.60%, with a cumulative daily output of 3.6859 million tons.

With the government launching a package of policies and measures to stabilize the economy in accordance with the clear overall thinking and policy orientation, the decline of major economic indicators narrowed in May, the economy stabilized and rebounded in June, and the economy achieved positive growth in the second quarter.
