The 12th China International Steel Conference & 2023 Global Low Carbon Metallurgical Innovation Forum were held at the China Baowu Steel Expo Center on October 15th. Delegates from the Worldsteel, China Iron and Steel Association, domestic and overseas steel enterprises, and ecosystems experts gathered together to exchange experiences, enlighten ideas, enhance consensus, and stimulate strong momentum for the global steel industry to work together for the green and new development focused on "green new driving force, new development of steel".
This global steel industry event adopts a combination of keynote speeches and forums, fully exploring the path and measures for the future green transformation and development of the global steel industry through Chinese and the world steel dialogues, and that from leaders of world-renowned steel companies, top scientists and entrepreneurs, and upstream and downstream entrepreneurs in the steel industry chain.
He Wenbo, Executive Chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, and Edwin Basson, Director General of the Worldsteel, delivered speeches at the conference.
He Wenbo stated in his speech that in recent years, how the steel industry has achieved green and low-carbon transformation has become the theme and direction of technological progress and industrial change. Steel people around the world have focused on the theme of green and low-carbon, deployed and launched a series of key actions and change plans. The green and low-carbon development path of steel has shown bright prospects for achieving green transformation of the world economy and society. After more than 40 years of rapid development through reform and opening up, China's steel industry has undergone fundamental changes in its comprehensive strength and overall appearance. Like the world's steel industry, it is fully implementing a green and low-carbon transformation plan for the future. On the basis of various green and low-carbon development plans that have been launched, the China Iron and Steel Association is preparing and planning an overall transformation plan for the industry. This will be a comprehensive transformation plan that covers the entire process of carbon neutrality based on respect for basic industries.
