India delays final AD decision on color coated flats from China, EU until Sept

2017/7/6 10:50

India has delayed deciding on a final antidumping (AD) duty on color coated alloy and non-alloy flat steel products imported from China and the European Union until September, a senior government official said on Wednesday, July 5.
The official said that the Directorate General for Anti Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has to take into consideration “special circumstances” in the course of its ongoing dumping investigations and so a final decision on AD duty has been pushed back until September this year.
The official, however, declined to divulge details regarding the “special circumstances”. He said that, in the meantime, the provisional AD duty imposed on color coated alloy and non alloy flat steel products imported from China and the European Union would be extended until such time as the DGAD completed its investigations in September.
In October 2016, the Indian government imposed a provisional AD duty on imports of these products from China and the European Union. The DGAD had fixed the reference price for such imports at $849/mt, with the effective provisional AD rate being the difference between the reference price and the landed price of imports.
