​China's iron ore output in Oct sees both year on year and month on month growth

In October 2023, China's iron ore production saw double-digit growth year-on-year and month-on-month. The total crude ore output in Oct was 86.445 million tons, up 2.5% month-on-month and 29.8% year-on-year. From January to October, the country's crude ore production was 825.758 million tons, up 7.8% year-on-year.

The growth of production is mainly concentrated in Hebei, Liaoning, Sichuan, Anhui and other provinces.

In October, the crude ore output of Hebei was 38.7729 million tons, up 8.4% month-on-month and 47.7% year on year. The cumulative output from January to October was 365.4164 million tons, up 7.6% year on year.

In October, the crude iron ore output of Liaoning province was 14.3062 million tons, which was basically the same as that of the previous month, with a year-on-year increase of 20.1%. From January to October, the output was 142.8728 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. The output in Sichuan was 9.9003 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 8.9% and a year-on-year increase of 18.4%. From January to October, the output was 86.3654 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.

The output in Anhui was 3.0914 million tons, up 0.5% from the previous month and up 7.9% year on year. The cumulative output from January to October was 30.3157 million tons, up 13.4% year on year.

In October, the output of iron ore in Hebei, Liaoning, Sichuan, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Shandong and Xinjiang, the eight major mining provinces (regions), was 77.8779 million tons, an increase of 2.3708 million tons over the previous month, up 3.1% month on month, and an increase of 15.3145 million tons over the same period last year, up 24.5% year on year. The output of iron ore in the eight major mining provinces (regions) accounted for 90% of the national iron ore output. From January to October, the cumulative output of iron ore in the eight major mining provinces (regions) was 740.5144 million tons, up 3.8% year on year.
